In a bid to ensure accurate public information, The Ministry of Defence has requested the removal of its photographs from a Nova.rs article titled Fatal Errors That Could Have Cost Lives: CINS Reveals over 270 Errors in Construction of EXPO Residential Complex in Surčin.
The photographs in question were taken from a post published on the official Ministry of Defence website on September 29, 2026, reporting on a construction site inspection at the Aeronautical Museum military complex in Surčin. These photographs show the refurbishment and construction of multi-purpose hangars at the existing military complex and are completely unrelated to the EXPO residential complex detailed in the Nova.rs article.
The Ministry of Defence stresses that including photographs of the Aeronautical Museum military complex in an article about a completely unrelated construction project misleads readers about both the facilities shown in the photographs and the construction project described in the article.
Consequently, the Ministry of Defence has called on Nova.rs to remove the photographs, reminding the portal of its obligation to report in accordance with the principle of accuracy set out in the Serbian Journalists' Code of Ethics.
The Ministry of Defence remains committed to objective and accurate reporting and urges media outlets to use the Ministry of Defence’s photographs and videos in accordance with regulations, including the Law on Public Information and Media and the Serbian Journalists' Code of Ethics, respecting the context to avoid misleading the public.
