Military Police Battalion conducts Computer Assisted Exercise

The command and units of the Army Military Police Battalion have conducted a computer assisted exercise at the specialised SAF centre in Belgrade.
During the multi-day exercise, commanding personnel, and staff officers and non-commissioned officers received further training in planning and executing mission-specific tasks in the Serbian Armed Forces operations in a contemporary combat environment.

In accordance with the set scenario, staff procedures in the military decision-making process were practiced, and hostage situations and tactical scenarios involving counter-sabotage, counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operations were addressed. An important part of the exercise also involved training to counter drones and other unmanned platforms.
In addition to a daily analysis of the decision-making process at all levels of command, participants’ knowledge of the rules of the employment of the Military Police units was evaluated, as well as coordination and collaboration with other forces and civilian entities in the area of operations.

The exercise directing staff developed the scenario and main event list in such a manner that successful completion of the tasks throughout the exercise required extensive knowledge and skills, a high degree of creativity, and the ability to think critically.

Computer assisted exercises are an important type of practical training of the SAF commands because they provide unit commands and staff officers with an opportunity to improve their ability to plan and conduct combat operations spending a minimum amount of material resources.
