Training on HQ-17AE Missile System
Members of a battalion within the 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade are conducting intensive training on HQ-17AE missile systems at their permanent bases, focusing on the combat employment of the system and the execution of specialised tasks.
The training aims to upgrade unit personnel’s knowledge and skills. It is a continuous process, designed to ensure that individuals, crews, and units maintain a high degree of proficiency and readiness.Combat crews are carrying out a wide range of tasks to enhance their collective proficiency in preparing and conducting road marches, occupying firing positions, conducting surveillance, detection, and tracking, and engaging aerial targets. They are also practising missile re-arming in line with the specified standards.
The HQ-17AE missile system is designed to defend small military installations, administrative, political and economic facilities, Serbian Armed Forces units, and designated areas against aerial reconnaissance and attacks conducted by aircraft flying at very low or low altitudes. The fielding of this cutting-edge missile system and its integration into Serbia’s Air Defence represents an important step forward in ensuring multi-layered defence of Serbia’s territory.
