Minister Gašić visits Yumco in Vranje

Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić visited the Yumco textile firm in Vranje today, where he toured its facilities, including the ballistics plant and the weaving, finishing and final production units.

Following the tour of the facilities, the Minister of Defence met with Yumco’s General Manager, Zoran Stojković, and the factory’s management, who briefed him on the factory’s recent performance, current projects, and plans for the company's future development.

Having verified the company’s progress, Minister Gašić highlighted the importance of continuous cooperation between the Ministry of Defence and domestic industry. He stressed that improving production capacity, supporting domestic expertise, and investing in personnel were vital to the development and competitiveness of domestic companies.

- Our objective is to ensure our companies operate successfully, develop, and retain expert staff. The Ministry of Defence's support for the company is vital for maintaining production and jobs, as well as for the products this company manufactures for the Serbian Armed Forces. Its product range, including everything from uniforms to ballistic and other protective equipment, plays a significant role in equipping our service personnel. We will continue to strengthen this cooperation, as it is of utmost importance that we rely as much as possible on our domestic production capabilities – the Minister of Defence said.
