Minister Gašić visits PPT Namenska defence company in Trstenik
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić today visited PPT Namenska, a defence company based in Trstenik, where he acquainted himself with the manufacturing facilities, current operations and plans for the company’s future development.
During the visit, the Minister of Defence met with the Acting General Manager, Andrijana Jovanović, and the management, to discuss the company’s production programmes, technological capabilities and the potential for production advancement.The Minister of Defence also visited the Army hall, as well as the Air Force hall, which houses state-of-the-art machinery procured over the past five years thanks to investments made by the state.
While there, Minister Gašić noted that efforts have been made for years to improve working conditions and reach the highest European and global defence industry standards.- New complex combat systems are one of the most important segments we are working on. In collaboration with the Military Technical Institute and other parts of the defence system, we have managed to achieve significant results in developing these systems. This will make a direct impact on the strengthening of our defence capabilities, but also on the creation of new jobs and further development of the domestic industry – Minister Gašić said, adding that the coming period would see further efforts to develop and advance production.
Minister Gašić was accompanied on today’s tour by the State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Mile Jelić, the Acting Assistant Minister for Material Resources, Nenad Miloradović, and the President of the Municipality of Trstenik, Milena Turk.
