Minister Gašić opens new plant at Trayal Corporation in Kruševac
Today, Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić visited Trayal Corporation in Kruševac, where he opened a new plant and attended the signing of a Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Defence and the company based in Kruševac.
The agreement on cooperation in manufacturing camouflage protective equipment was signed on behalf of the Material Resources Sector’s Procurement and Sales Department by Colonel Ivan Delić, and Miloš Nenezić, Director-General of Trayal Corporation.During the visit, the Minister of Defence met with the management of Trayal Corporation to discuss the further advancement of cooperation, the company’s development plans, the modernisation of its production facilities, and opportunities for strengthening Serbia’s defence industry.
Minister Gašić then toured Trayal's rubber goods and protective gear plant, where he familiarised himself with the company's production processes and modern technologies. Following this, he officially opened a new ammonium perchlorate plant at Trayal’s Obilićevo industrial complex. To mark the occasion, Director-General Miloš Nenezić presented Minister Gašić with a commemorative plaque marking the corporation’s 137 years in business and acknowledging Minister Gašić’s role in Trayal’s continued existence.
Highlighting Trayal's long history, Minister Gašić noted that generations of workers, engineers, and experts had built this collective through their shared expertise and skill.
- Due to this, Trayal has become a part of the economic identity of Kruševac and an iconic Serbian brand. It is also an excellent example of how expertise, experience, and a great work ethic can be successfully handed down from one generation to the next. The opening of the new plant is an important step forward in the company's technological advancement and the enhancement of its manufacturing capacity. It shows that instead of simply relying on what we have inherited, we are laying the groundwork for new production, new expertise, and greater market competitiveness – the Minister of Defence said.He noted that a nation’s security depends not only on the quantity and quality of its weapons and military equipment, but on its capability to ensure their maintenance and continuity of supply. He further emphasised the need for strong domestic factories, skilled professionals, and reliable partners.
- Every modern country with capable leadership, and Serbia has proven to be just that in recent years, understands this and is moving in that direction. Today’s signing of the agreement for the production of camouflage protective equipment with Trayal is another proof of our commitment. This is not just a business relationship, it is a confirmation of trust, shared responsibility, and our determination to use domestic potential to strengthen our country’s defence capabilities. Our goal is clear: to ensure the Serbian Armed Forces are well-equipped and to create the necessary conditions for domestic industry to boost production, upgrade technologies, and create new jobs – Minister Gašić stressed.
The Minister of Defence also noted that by investing in domestic factories and modernising production lines and machinery, we are investing in knowledge, job security, the future of young people, and the economic strength of the towns where they live.- The impact of Trayal's development extends well beyond the factory gates. It means more business opportunities for Kruševac and the Rasina District, a stronger support for the local economy, and better prospects for young people to build their futures in their hometown. It is incomprehensible that those who, not so long ago, dismantled production facilities, shut down factories, and left workers and their families stranded on the streets now have the audacity to criticise us and give us hindsight lectures on how to manage local and regional development. When they had the opportunity to lead, they demonstrated their ethics and expertise, guided by their own interests rather than those of the state and the public – Minister Gašić stressed.
He expressed his gratitude to Trayal's leadership for their dedication to the company's development, paying special tribute to the employees whose hard work and expertise demonstrate that Serbian industry can be both modern and competitive. Minister Gašić expressed his belief that the new production plant and the newly-signed contract would serve as a driving force for the continued progress of both Trayal and Kruševac.
The Director-General of Trayal Corporation, Miloš Nenezić, stated that Trayal was the only factory in the world equipped with all three advanced manufacturing technologies vital to strengthening a country’s defence capabilities.- This is of vital importance for Trayal Corporation, Kruševac, and Serbia. For Serbia, because it strengthens national defence capabilities, for Kruševac, because it accelerates economic growth and creates 100 new jobs, and for Trayal Corporation, because it allows the company, 137 years after its founding, to remain a major actor within Serbia's defence industry – Mr Nenezić stated, highlighting that that opening of the new plant was another demonstration of the Ministry of Defence's support for the corporation.
The event was attended by the Mayor of Kruševac, Ivan Manojlović.
