- By investing in the company’s capacity, we are laying the groundwork for the FAP to become even more efficient and competitive, and to meet the growing demands of the Serbian Armed Forces in the coming period. The Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces will continue to equip their units with first-class domestic products, because we view this as a positive thing for both the development of the defence industry and Serbia’s economic growth – the Minister of Defence said.Minister Gašić continued his visit by inspecting the construction work on new barracks in Priboj.
Highlighting the importance of the new barracks, the Minister of Defence noted that the presence of the Serbian Armed Forces would give a significant boost to the development of Priboj and the surrounding communities.- Plans are underway to station a mountain battalion here, which will significantly benefit both Priboj and the entire region. Local youth who wish to pursue military career will be able to do so right here. They will be able to serve in the military while raising their families in their hometown. Once compulsory military service is reintroduced, a number of conscripts will undergo military training at the new barracks. The military will thus become an even more visible part of the community, and the presence of soldiers will contribute to both the economic and social life of this part of Serbia – Minister Gašić emphasised.
