Minister Gašić inspects renovated facility within Nikola Pašić Barracks in Zaječar

Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić visited the Nikola Pašić Barracks in Zaječar today, where the renovation and refurbishment work has been completed on a facility that will accommodate soldiers undertaking compulsory military service.
During the visit, the Minister of Defence stated that investment in military infrastructure was an essential prerequisite for increasing the military’s capacity to receive and train future soldiers.
- The reintroduction of conscription requires our barracks to be prepared for new tasks and equipped with everything needed to provide soldiers with proper living and training conditions. The facility we visited today has been fully renovated and refurbished to meet the needs of the soldiers who will be housed and trained here. We will keep investing in military infrastructure, since it is our responsibility to preserve and improve the existing facilities and exploit their potential to the maximum. By doing so, we are establishing better working and training conditions for Serbian Armed Forces personnel, while ensuring that our infrastructure is able to meet the needs of the defence system – the Minister of Defence said, stressing that the investment in the renovation of the Nikola Pašić Barracks was part of a broader project to improve military infrastructure.
The renovation and refurbishment of the facility have created all the necessary conditions for soldiers to live, work and train in. The facility now includes dormitories, classrooms, offices, drying rooms and storage areas, as well as refurbished ablution blocks and other amenities designed to meet the needs of soldiers undertaking compulsory military service.
During the tour, the Minister of Defence was accompanied by the State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Mile Jelić, the Deputy Commander of the Army, Brigadier General Nebojša Nedeljković, and the Head of the Infrastructure Department, Colonel Miloš Peruničić.
