Bilateral security consultations



The third consecutive bilateral defense consultations ended in Colmbus, Ohio yesterday. The five member delegation of MoD was headed by State Secretary dr Zoran jeftic, while the US delegation was headed by Joseph McMillan, first assistant to the US Defense Secretary for international security affairs.

The consultations focused on the analysis of the “Strategic Defense Review” drafted by a team of US experts after a survey conducted in April 2010, where the activities of such important cooperation programs as State Partnership program, IMET Program and FMF/FMS were analyzed.

Thetalks were marked by a review of possibilities and mutual support to developing civil-civil cooperation within the State Partnership program.

These bilateral security and defense consultations resulted in a more defined and harmonized fields of cooperation in the future.

The Serbian MoD delegation had an opportunity to tour the ONG Camp “Ravene” where numerous practical military drills are conducted, with training grounds and shooting grounds and simulation centers all constructed in line with the US standards.

ONG representatives expressed their readiness to participate more actively in building similar facilities in Jug military base.
