Laying wreaths to the Belgrade liberators



Minister of Defense Dragan Sutanovac and the Chief of the General Staff LTG Miloje Miletic and the CHOD of the Russian Federation General of the Army Nikolai Makarov laid commemorative wreaths on occasion of marking 20th October, at the memorial dedicated to the Belgrade WWII liberators as well as on the memorial to a Red Army Soldier.

On this occasion the Minister of Defense wrote in the memorial book the following words:

“Glory and honor to the liberators of Belgrade.”

”The members of SAF are proud of their glorious forefathers, Belgrade liberators in WWII and are following in their footsteps. Long live Serbia!” as General Miletic wrote.

Russian CHOD General Nikolai Makarov wrote the following words:

“May the Yugoslav and Soviet soldiers who laid their lives to liberate Belgrade be remembered forever”

Other delegations including the delegations of the National Assembly, of the City of Belgrade, of SUBNOR and the embassies of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Azerbaijan also laid a commemorative wreath.

Minister Sutanovac also held talks today with the Russian CHOD Army General Nikolai Makarov.

The talks focused on promoting cooperation between the two armies, as both sides have vested interest in this with multiple benefits, especially in joint exercises and training sessions, military education, health care and military economical cooperation.
