Members of 63rd Parachute Brigade win Special Forces Parachuting Competition



The 25th Special Forces Parachuting Competition ended today at the Sergeant Pilot Mihajlo Petrović Military Airbase in ​​Niš with an official award ceremony for top-performing individual competitors and teams.
​Competing against nine teams from five countries, teams from the 63rd Parachute Brigade took first and third places, while the 72nd Special Operations Brigade secured second place. The team representing the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan received the fair play award.

​The two-day competition brought together four teams from the 63rd Parachute Brigade, one from the 72nd Special Operations Brigade, and one team each from the armed forces of Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Romania, and Spain. The special forces personnel competed in demanding disciplines, demonstrating outstanding proficiency, physical fitness, resourcefulness, and sportsmanship.
​The first day of the competition included the following events: helicopter landing, 2 km tactical course, solving shooting challenges on the target range, and casualty evacuation.

On the second day, competitors completed a 30 km tactical course in full combat gear, competing in 10 different events. The events included parachute landing, precision bombing and knife throwing, overcoming wire and water obstacles and navigating contaminated terrain, as well as rope climbing and area search. ​
The Special Forces Parachuting Competition was organised by the Serbian Armed Forces’ 63rd Parachute Brigade ahead of October 14— Unit Day. In addition to serving as a sports competition and a demonstration of capability, the competition provides an opportunity for special forces personnel to exchange experiences and strengthen cooperation.
