Special Forces Parachuting Competition
The 25th Special Forces Parachuting Competition, organised by the 63rd Parachute Brigade, is being held this week at the Sergeant Pilot Mihajlo Petrović Military Airbase in Niš and in the greater Niš area.
This year, the international competition has brought together nine teams from five countries. Alongside four teams from the 63rd Parachute Brigade and one team from the 72nd Special Operations Brigade, the competition also features teams from the armed forces of Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Romania, and Spain.On the first day, personnel will compete in the following events: helicopter landing, 2 km tactical course, solving shooting challenges on the target range, and casualty evacuation.
The second day of the competition is reserved for a 30 km tactical course. During this phase, competitors will compete in 10 events, in full combat gear. The events include parachute landing, precision bombing and knife throwing, overcoming wire and water obstacles and navigating contaminated terrain, rope climbing and area search.The competition ends on Saturday with a formal closing ceremony and the presentation of awards to the top teams and individuals.
