SAF personnel take first place at US military competition

Members of the Serbian Armed Forces took first place in the overall team standings at a military shooting championship held at Camp Perry in the United States from September 17 to 20. The competition was organised by the Ohio National Guard.
Serbia and the Serbian Armed Forces were represented by members of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade, the 63rd Parachute Brigade and the Special Purpose Military Police Detachment “Kobre”.

In addition to winning the team competition, SAF members also took first place in the combat pistol shooting competition, based on their combined results in rifle and pistol events.
The best individual competitor - the grand champion, was Sergeant First Class Dušan Adamović of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade. Adamović also took first place in the individual combat pistol shooting event, while second place went to another member of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade.

Held annually in Ohio, the multi-day competition brings together soldiers and non-commissioned officers to improve the marksmanship skills required for combat operations, as well as their proficiency in weapons handling and teamwork.
The Serbian Armed Forces and the Ohio National Guard have been fostering a successful partnership for two decades through the Serbia–Ohio State Partnership Program. Participation in competitions such as this is part of a wide range of joint activities aimed at strengthening the capabilities of the two armed forces, building mutual trust and further developing relations between the Republic of Serbia and the United States.
