Congratulatory message from President Aleksandar Vučič to mark Artillery Day
The President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, has sent a message of congratulation on the occasion of Artillery Day, which reads:
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all Artillery personnel, whose expertise, responsibility, and dedication contribute to a reputation built for more than a century.
The roots of the Artillery, closely entwined with the development of the Serbian army, date back to the establishment of the Artillery School and the first artillery units, through the bitter trials and glorious victories of our predecessors, to the modern units whose capabilities now contribute to the fulfilment of the most demanding missions. The memory of generations who demonstrated exceptional courage, perseverance, and self-sacrifice in the most difficult times serves as a lasting commitment for all those who wear the uniform of the Artillery today. Their example reminds us that a good name is not inherited, but must be earned through professional approach to duty, knowledge, and readiness to fulfil assigned tasks at any moment.
It is particularly pleasing that members of artillery units continuously advance their level of training and proficiency. The results they achieve during preliminary and live fire exercises, as well as during complex tactical exercises, confirm their professionalism and readiness to carry out tasks under diverse conditions.
The state has recognised the importance of the artillery. Consequently, significant funding is directed to its equipment and modernisation. Investment in modern systems, along with the improvement of training facilities, living conditions and professional standards, clearly confirms the state's commitment to ensuring the Serbian Armed Forces are strong, modern, and ready to meet any challenge. These investments also signify trust in the people who will operate these assets and use their expertise to translate modern technology into genuine capability in the field.
May Artillery Day serve as motivation for you to continue, with even greater determination, on the path of professional development and the building of even stronger Serbian Armed Forces.”
