Congratulatory message from Minister of Defence to mark Artillery Day
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić has sent a message of congratulation on the occasion of September 14 – Artillery Day, which reads:
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all members of the Artillery on the occasion of September 14 – Artillery Day.
Upholding a 108-year-old tradition, we proudly remember the heroism displayed during the Great War and the historic artillery preparation for the breakthrough on the Salonica Front in 1918. By safeguarding those moral values and building new ones, you have proven to be worthy successors to your predecessors.
From the establishment of the Artillery School and the Gun Foundry in Kragujevac to the present, the Artillery has been the cornerstone of our military’s firepower. Thanks to continuous training and procurement of modern systems, you are able to respond to contemporary challenges with great success.
I would particularly highlight the results you have achieved participating in exercises and joint training programmes over the past period, during which you demonstrated a high degree of professionalism and readiness for the execution of the most demanding tasks.
I congratulate you on your professional holiday, confident that in the period ahead you will continue to carry out your assigned tasks with equal success and professionalism, contributing to the further development and reputation of your branch.”
