Unmanned and robotic platforms at Pešter exercise: New capabilities of Serbian Armed Forces in realistic conditions
The active phase of the Joint Tactical Live-Fire Exercise Victor 2026 is currently underway at the Pešter temporary training area, where SAF units are practicing complex combat operations using newly introduced and modernised assets and systems.
Units operating recently fielded unmanned and robotic platforms play a significant role in the execution of tactical and fire-support missions during the exercise. Their deployment allows personnel to execute certain missions with reduced risk, while also enhancing surveillance, reconnaissance, data transmission, and field support capabilities.Under the scenario, remotely piloted aircraft with various operational and aerial reconnaissance capabilities are being actively employed, alongside a wide range of unmanned ground and robotic platforms designed to neutralise opposing forces.
In this way, the Serbian Armed Forces are able to achieve one of the goals of the exercise – to enhance the proficiency of individuals and units in employing these platforms during joint combat operations, while simultaneously verifying the level of integration of new technologies with existing command, reconnaissance, and fire support systems.
The main activities of Serbian Armed Forces units at the Pešter temporary training area will continue until September 13, when the determination and proficiency of Serbian Armed Forces personnel, the firepower of new and modernized assets and systems, and the high level of interoperability and cooperation in responding to challenges, risks, and threats to the security of the Republic of Serbia will be demonstrated to the general public.
