New issue of Odbrana magazine released
The September issue of Odbrana magazine features a series of engaging reports on significant anniversaries being celebrated this month across the units and institutions of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
Artillery Day and Mixed Artillery Brigade Day (September 14), are marked with a feature in the Focal Point section. The brigade commander, officers, non-commissioned officers, civilian employees and soldiers spoke about their unit, as well as the significance and achievements of modern artillery.Ahead of Military Police Day, an article outlines the role and key tasks of MP personnel within the defence system. It also notes that this year’s celebrations will include their participation in the joint tactical live-fire exercise Pobednik 2026 (Victor 2026).
The September issue also covers Logistics Training Centre Day (September 15) and Signal Brigade Day - the unit’s 20th anniversary that will be marked on September 20.
The System section presents a photo and text feature capturing a day in the life of 3rd Army Brigade reconnaissance personnel during their summer training.
The History section includes two features – one covering the activities of the Serbian Supreme Command’s Photography Section during the First World War, and the other about military and humanitarian aspects of relations between the Kingdom of Serbia and the United States during the Great War.
The Culture section reports on upcoming observances for two Ministry of Defence institutions. The Military Museum presents its new exhibition, "A Touch with the Past," while the MOD’s "Stanislav Binički" Art Ensemble marks 127 years since its establishment late this month.
