Commissioning ceremony for March class of SAF reserve officers

A commissioning ceremony was held today at the General Jovan Mišković Barracks in Banjica for the March 2026 class of reserve officer candidates, officially promoting them to the rank of reserve second lieutenant.
Following the reading of the Decree issued by the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, promoting the reserve officer candidates to the rank of reserve second lieutenant, the Rector of the Defence University, Brigadier General Boban Đorović, presented awards to the top-ranked graduates.

In his speech, General Đorović emphasised that the reserve second lieutenants deserved congratulations of the entire country, both for their decision to become reserve officers and for the success they had achieved.
- Dear parents, relatives, and friends of our reserve officers, thank you for giving selfless support to our new reserve second lieutenants over the past six months. Their decision to step into the General Jovan Mišković Barracks driven by patriotism and readiness to serve Serbia is largely thanks to you. We are returning them to you tougher, more disciplined, and enriched with military knowledge, skills, and virtues. Be proud of them and their achievement - said Brigadier General Đorović, adding that the new class of reserve officers had proven to be highly capable, motivated, and well-trained.

He noted that “the ranks of the Serbian Armed Forces have become stronger today” and reminded the new officers to always be proud of our military, the Military Academy and the Faculty of Medicine of the Military Medical Academy, whether they receive employment within the defence system or make other professional choices.
- Today's ceremony marks the completion of a relatively short phase in your lives. However challenging, difficult, or demanding it may seem to you now, it lasted only six months and is now followed by a longer, more demanding phase where you will play the main role. What lies ahead is your active professional career and your obligation to the Republic of Serbia, whose reserve officers you have now become – stressed Rector Đorović.

Promoted at today’s ceremony were reserve second lieutenants of the infantry branch and the medical service. Ranking first was Uroš Aćimović from the 145th class of the Infantry, with a GPA of 9.78, followed by Second Lieutenant Filip Stojiljković with a GPA of 9.56, also from the 145th class, while Second Lieutenant Danka Ilić Raković from the 25th class of the Medical Service ranked third with a GPA of 9.44.
Reserve Second Lieutenant Uroš Aćimović, the top-ranked graduate of the March 2026 class, emphasised that the new reserve officers must preserve the heroic deeds and honour of their glorious ancestors from oblivion.

- Today, as we become reserve officers of the Serbian Armed Forces, the words of our oath resonate even more loudly in our hearts, that we, too, stand ready to defend our homeland, the Republic of Serbia. Fellow reserve officers, may our actions serve our people and country, and bring pride to our ancestors and future generations - said Reserve Second Lieutenant Aćimović.
The commissioning ceremony for the March 2026 class of reserve officers was attended by the Commandant of the Military Academy, Major General Željko Furundžić, the Head of the Personnel Department, Brigadier General Zlatko Mišić, members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as the families and friends of the newly commissioned reserve officers.
