Congratulatory message from President Aleksandar Vučić to mark Riverine Units and River Flotilla Day
The President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, sent a congratulatory message today on the occasion of Riverine Units and River Flotilla Day, which reads:
“On the occasion of August 19, Riverine Units and River Flotilla Day, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and I express my deepest respect for the professionalism, dedication, and responsibility you demonstrate each day while carrying out tasks entrusted to you.
Today we pay tribute to all generations of personnel from riverine units and the River Flotilla who have left a mark on our military history with their courage, skills and honour. Their legacy is not only part of the past, but it creates a lasting duty to preserve the values upon which Serbian Armed Forces’ reputation and strength rest.
Upholding a tradition spanning more than a century, you confirm, through your professional competence, discipline and readiness to tackle the most complex challenges, that riverine units and the River Flotilla are the key pillars of Serbia’s defence system. By carrying out your tasks in a responsible and professional manner, you significantly contribute to the development and maintenance of Serbian Armed Forces’ operational capabilities, the protection of national interests along inland waterways, and the strengthening of our country’s reputation through international military cooperation, joint activities, and humanitarian work.
