New issue of Odbrana magazine released
In the August issue of Odbrana, read about the top newly commissioned officers of the Serbian Armed Forces and find out more about the commissioning ceremony for the 147th class of the Military Academy and the 12th class of the Military Medical Academy’s Faculty of Medicine, held on July 25 at the General Jovan Mišković Barracks in Banjica.
The magazine includes special features to mark Aviation Day (August 2) and the 111th anniversary of the River Flotilla and its units.
Training takes centre stage in this issue. Our journalists and photojournalists joined members of the T-72M Tank Battalion and the 31st ASEWG Battalion in the field. We have also attended the skills assessment of the "June 2026" intake of voluntary military service recruits at the 3rd Training Centre.
The Healthcare section features an article on the work of the Internal Medicine Clinic Group at the Military Medical Academy. In an interview with the head of the clinic, Colonel Prof. Predrag Đurić, MD-PhD, we explore modern diagnostic and therapeutic procedures implemented across the group’s 11 clinics.
To mark Vidovdan, one of our Serbia’s major public holidays, a major exhibition entitled "Vidovdan – A Public Holiday" opened at the Historical Museum of Serbia in late June. Read the full review in our Culture section.
Our Tradition section is dedicated to the humanitarian efforts of the Association of Veterans of the Security Authorities and Military Police of Serbia, while the History section examines the training of Yugoslav military personnel in the USSR between 1945 and 1948.
The August issue of Odbrana magazine provides a complete overview of the most important events, people, and topics across the defence system—available now at newsagents across Serbia.
