Military Police units conduct military working dog and handler training

Intensive training for professional personnel is currently underway in SAF Military Police units. The training is designed to enhance personnel readiness for military policing and general security duties within the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
Military Working Dog (MWD) handler training programme is a vital component of training in these units.  MWDs are indispensable assets to MP officers, particularly in the guarding and protection of military facilities, mobile assets and VIPs, as well as in search operations.

Tailored to each dog’s specialized role and innate capabilities, the training includes navigating natural and man-made obstacles, area searches, counter-sabotage inspections, and detecting explosive ordnance and various types of psychoactive substances.
The aim of the training programme is to build absolute trust between handlers and their dogs, drill standard operating procedures, and ensure effective control over MWDs even in the most challenging situations.

Training in Military Police units is both varied and demanding. Maintaining a high level of readiness for operations involving MWDs is vital due to the dogs’ natural ability to detect potential threats and neutralize enemies swiftly, without the use of lethal force.
