Minister Gašić meets with Deputy Defence Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina Goganović
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić met today in Mrkonjić Grad with the Deputy Minister of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Aleksandar Goganović, with whom he discussed possibilities for further development of defence cooperation, as well as the current security situation in the region.
Minister Gašić and Deputy Minister Goganović met ahead of the Remembrance Day commemoration that will be held this evening at King Petar I Karađorđević Square in Mrkonjić Grad to honour those killed and expelled during Operation Storm.Reflecting on the significance of remembering the victims of Operation Storm, launched on this day in 1995 by Croatian armed formations, Minister Gašić stressed that fostering a culture of remembrance for the fallen and exiled is our duty, and that we must all ensure such crimes against the Serbian people are never committed again.
Minister Gašić noted that it is important today more than ever to preserve the unity of the Serbian people, regardless of where they live, and underscored that the Republic of Serbia will always stand by its people.Addressing the current security situation in the region, Minister Gašić highlighted the importance of maintaining peace, stability, and mutual trust. He conveyed Serbia's commitment to further developing good neighbourly relations and strengthening cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina in areas of mutual interest.
The meeting also considered potential ways to further enhance cooperation in military education, training, and professional development for armed forces personnel, as well as the continued implementation of joint activities outlined in the bilateral military cooperation plan.
