Congratulatory message from Minister of Defence to mark Aviation Day
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić has sent a message of congratulation on the occasion of August 2 – Aviation Day, which reads:
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all members of the Aviation arm of service on August 2 – Aviation Day.
Aviation Day celebrations are an occasion for us to remember the rich history of our aviation, its advancement and contribution to building and safeguarding the security and sovereignty of our country.
Awareness of the necessity to keep up with technological advancements and the desire for our country to be the sovereign ruler of its skies is as strong today as it was 133 years ago. At the moment, Serbia is making huge steps in strengthening and modernizing its military aviation, perhaps more than ever before in its modern history.
The greatest strength of our aviation does not only lie in its aircraft, armament, and radar systems, but primarily in the personnel who operate them – true patriots and top professionals.
Therefore, may Aviation Day be a holiday celebrating the pride and honour of all active duty and retired members of the Aviation. Let us pay tribute to those who defended the sky of our homeland in the hardest of times and let us show respect to those who are ready, even today, to carry out with the same resolve every mission in service to Serbia.
I congratulate you on your professional holiday, confident that you will continue to carry out tasks entrusted to you responsibly, honourably and successfully, strengthening the Aviation’s reputation and contributing to the further development of the Serbian Armed Forces.”
