Congratulatory message from President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić to mark Aviation Day
The President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, has sent a message of congratulation on the occasion of August 2 – Aviation Day. The message reads:
“I extend my congratulations to all members of the Aviation arm of service on August 2 – Aviation Day.
By the order of King Aleksandar I Obrenović of Serbia issued in 1839, aviation sections were established within each division as the first aviation units in the Serbian army.
Proud of a glorious tradition spanning more than a century, aviation members continue to follow the path of their predecessors. Thanks to your great proficiency, professionalism, dedication and continuous professional development, you carry out the most complex tasks in protecting the national airspace, providing support to ground forces, transporting people and equipment, conducting reconnaissance, and carrying out humanitarian and rescue missions.
Over the past period, notable achievements have been made through increased pilot flight hours, daytime and nighttime training on all aircraft types, training of young flight personnel, and the introduction of modern planes and helicopters into service.
At the same time, through participation in national and international exercises, cooperation with partner forces, and engagement in a number of military, civil, and humanitarian activities, you have once again demonstrated a high level of training and readiness.
May your achievements serve as an incentive for the Aviation arm of the Serbian Armed Forces to remain a recognized and important factor in international security.
I congratulate you on your professional holiday, hoping that you will continue to successfully carry out your assigned tasks in maintaining and enhancing the operational capabilities of your units, the Air Force and Air Defence, and the Serbian Armed Forces as a whole.“
