The President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, has extended his congratulations to all officers, non-commissioned officers, soldiers and civilian employees serving in the Serbian Armed Forces on the occasion of the Serbian Armed Forces’ Patron Saint’s Day – Saint Despot Stefan the Tall. The message reads:
“I extend my congratulations to all officers, non-commissioned officers, and civilian employees serving in the Serbian Armed Forces on the occasion of the Serbian Armed Forces’ Patron Saint’s Day – Saint Despot Stefan the Tall!
Today, as the Serbian Armed Forces celebrate their heavenly protector, we proudly remember the great ruler, military leader, and knight who through his work forged the strength of the Serbian state and the spirituality of our people. His life and his feats testify to the fact that faith in God and love for the homeland are the highest virtues every soldier should pledge to.
The Serbian Armed Forces uphold the tradition that Despot Stefan established through his own example – that courage and chivalry always go hand in hand with wisdom, justice and spiritual strength. His actions and his faith remain a beacon to all generations who serve Serbia.
The Serbian Armed Forces’ Patron Saint’s Day is a day for spiritual growth and unity. It reminds us that military service is more than a duty – it is the call of honour, a pledge of loyalty, and a symbol of the strength of a nation capable of protecting its freedom. May Saint Despot Stefan protect all our soldiers, their families, and Serbia!
I extend my congratulations to every member of the Serbian Armed Forces, wishing them God’s blessing, wisdom, and strength. May they continue to serve the people and the state with the same fervour and dignity as our glorious ancestors!
Long live the Serbian Armed Forces!
Long live Serbia!”
