Congratulatory message from Minister of Defence to mark Medical Service Day
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić has sent a message on the occasion of July 30 – Medical Service Day, which reads:
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all members of the Medical Service on the occasion of July 30 – Medical Service Day.
Continuing the tradition spanning nearly two centuries, which was established when the first staff doctor was appointed in 1839, the Medical Service has developed into one of the pillars of the defence system. Through numerous historical challenges, you have left an indelible mark on the development of military medicine, confirming that professional competence, dedication and humanity are enduring values upon which this service rests.
Today, when Serbia and its armed forces grow in peace and develop faster and more resolutely than ever before in modern history, our Medical Service is faced with a task to follow this development by setting standards in medical profession. The tradition and reputation of our Military Service, which was built and confirmed through the most difficult situations, is guiding light to you – proud members of the service.
May this professional holiday serve as an occasion for you to open new chapters in future, glorious history.
