Flight training in Transport Aviation Squadron

The 138th Transport Aviation Squadron is conducting intensive flight training for its personnel at the Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović Military Air Base in Batajnica, as well as in the greater Belgrade and Niš areas.
The training is designed to maintain and enhance the operational readiness of both flight and technical personnel of the unit, which is part of the 204th Air Brigade, ensuring that the squadron is fully capable of carrying out its missions.

The unit’s primary aircraft, the C-295 transport aircraft procured three years ago for the Serbian Armed Forces, has proved to be highly effective. Its modern navigation system and equipment, along with a spacious cabin, greatly facilitates the work of our pilots, who are able to keep the aircraft airborne for extended periods of time due to its low fuel consumption.
Captain 1st Class Đorđe Luković, Assistant Commander for Transport and Airdrop Operations in the 138th Transport Aviation Squadron, explains what a typical flying day looks like in his unit and highlights the advantages of the C-295.

- This aircraft has significantly improved our flight missions. Our operational range has increased, our navigation instruments have been modernized, and a digital cockpit has been introduced, meaning we can now carry out our missions with great flexibility - Captain Luković stated.
The C-295 transport aircraft is designed for the transport of personnel and cargo, including VIP and medical transport missions. Its introduction into service with the Serbian Armed Forces has significantly improved the ability of the Air Force to transport and deploy units and mobile assets to an area of operations.
