Chief of General Staff meets with KFOR Commander

The Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, met today in Belgrade with the KFOR Commander, Major General Özkan Ulutaş.
The meeting focused on the current security situation in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as on the activities undertaken by the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR to monitor the situation on the ground and prevent the emergence and escalation of a crisis.

During the discussion, it was assessed that the situation in the Province remains sensitive and fragile, and that the international security forces must therefore be prepared to protect the population and maintain a secure environment in accordance with their mandate. In this regard, the importance of constant and direct contact between the relevant bodies of the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR at all levels was highlighted.
Highlighting that Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija do not feel safe, the Chief of the General Staff called upon the KFOR Commander to ensure that the international security forces—as the only legitimate armed formation in the Province—fulfil their obligations in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and the Military-Technical Agreement, and, above all, protect the Serbs and Serbian religious, cultural, and historical heritage in the Province.
