Chief of General Staff meets with future Serbian Armed Forces officers

The Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, met today with final-year cadets of the Military Academy, who will be commissioned as officers of the Serbian Armed Forces on Saturday.
Congratulating the cadets on the diplomas they had earned and the results they had achieved during their studies, General Mojsilović noted that they would face numerous challenges in their first appointments and that by joining the ranks of Serbian Armed Forces officers, they were assuming the inherent responsibilities of being an officer.

— An officer is a person whose job is to command; a person always ready to protect, to lead when the situation demands it, and to make decisions in the most difficult of circumstances. To be able to do those tasks, you will need strength of character, decisiveness, continuous self-improvement, firm discipline, and courage.  I expect you to demonstrate through your service the knowledge you have acquired during your education, but also to learn from your senior and more experienced colleagues – said General Mojsilović.
He expressed his satisfaction that the new generation of officers would have better conditions within the Serbian Armed Forces and the defence system than the generations who had graduated from the Academy in previous years.

— Thanks to the investment cycle unparalleled in recent history, the Serbian Armed Forces now have modern weapons and equipment, better infrastructure, and better living and working conditions. With ongoing capital projects aimed at equipping the armed forces, I can proudly say that we will be much stronger in the years ahead. You will hold an important place in that system as young leaders and the future of Serbian Armed Forces’ officer corps – the Chief of the General Staff concluded, expressing hope that the cadets would build their professional careers in peace, while remaining ready to resolutely defend their fatherland - the Republic of Serbia, should the need arise.
