Engineering Training of Serbian Armed Forces and Ohio National Guard Personnel
Joint engineering training involving members of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ohio National Guard is currently underway at the “Vrtogoš” Multipurpose Firing Range near Bujanovac.

The two-week training is being conducted through practical engineering work aimed at improving the training range and constructing a training area for instruction in the use of mines and explosives. The activities include the development of the camp and the construction of protective positions, explosives storage facilities and personnel shelters.
These activities improve the training infrastructure available to Serbian Armed Forces units and enhance the ability of engineering personnel to perform their assigned tasks in support of operations.

Second Lieutenant Petra Đorđević, a platoon commander in the 410th Engineer Battalion, said that the joint training was further confirmation of the successful cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ohio National Guard and that it contributed to further enhancing their capabilities to construct roads, camps, shelters and protective positions.
Sergeant Marjan Nikolić emphasised that the training had proved extremely useful, both in terms of the joint execution of tasks and the development of mutual trust, friendship and team spirit.

The Serbian Armed Forces maintain successful cooperation with the Ohio National Guard under the State Partnership Program between the Republic of Serbia and the U.S. state of Ohio in numerous areas of mutual interest. Joint activities enhance the capabilities of both armed forces and contribute to the further development of overall relations between the Republic of Serbia and the United States of America.
