Training on Modern Air Defence Missile Systems

Intensive training is underway in an FK-3-equipped battalion of the 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade for the execution of tasks related to the protection of the airspace of the Republic of Serbia.

The training is conducted in the areas of the unit’s peacetime locations, with the aim of acquiring new knowledge and skills and maintaining the required level of proficiency. The training process is designed to produce highly trained individuals, crews and units capable of carrying out every task while making maximum use of the system’s combat capabilities.

The crews are assigned a wide range of diverse tasks adapted to the contemporary operational environment, thus creating optimal conditions for practising combat procedures and achieving full coordination among all elements of the system.

The FK-3 is designed to protect key facilities, Serbian Armed Forces units, areas and axes within the country’s territory against aerial reconnaissance and attacks. It is capable of engaging aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles and air-to-surface missiles at altitudes of up to 27 kilometres and ranges of up to 100 kilometres. Its integration into the air defence system has significantly enhanced the capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces to protect the airspace of the Republic of Serbia.
