ASEWG Service Day marked

A military ceremony was held today at the Banjica Barracks in Belgrade to mark ASEWG Service Day, which commemorates June 18, 1915, when orders were issued to form standing signal stations to track the flight paths of enemy aircraft.
At the ceremony, the unit’s accomplishments over the past year were reviewed, awards were presented to the most outstanding individuals, and wreaths were laid at the memorial dedicated to Sgt Siniša Radić and Sgt Željko Savičić, members of the 126th ASEWG Brigade killed during the NATO aggression against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1999.

The review of the most significant results accomplished in the past year highlighted continued efforts to equip the unit with modern early warning and control systems. These systems, together with the high proficiency of the unit’s professional staff, ensure the highest standards of control of Serbia’s airspace.
The ceremony was attended by the Commander of the Air Force and Air Defence, Major General Brane Krnjajić, as well as representatives of SAF units, the Serbian Orthodox Church, local government bodies, and institutions cooperating with the 126th ASEWG Brigade.
