Minister Gašić meets with Head of EU Delegation to Serbia



Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić met today with the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia, Andreas von Beckerath, with whom he discussed defence cooperation, regional security, and the further development of partnership.
   Minister Gašić noted that Serbia remains committed to contributing to national, regional, and global security through cooperation with other countries and international organisations. He underlined that the Republic of Serbia implements this strategic commitment through its participation in European Union missions and operations, thereby contributing to the European Union’s Common Security and Defence Policy.
According to Minister Gašić, regional stability is of key importance and, therefore, maintaining regular, intensive high-level political dialogue with partners, among whom the European Union holds an important place, is essential.

Minister Gašić noted that Serbia has significantly improved its rate of alignment with the European Union’s Common Foreign and Security Policy, which is now at the highest percentage since 2014.
Ambassador Andreas von Beckerath expressed delight at today’s meeting with Minister Gašić, noting that the high alignment rate provides a good basis for further strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
