Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić and the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović today attended the Distinguished Visitors Day at the Platinum Wolf 26 multinational tactical exercise, conducted at the Borovac Military Training Area near Bujanovac.
The exercise was also attended by the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, the Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Colonel General Gojko Knežević, members of the Defence Minister’s and the Chief of the General Staff’s collegiums, representatives of the armed forces of participating countries, as well as representatives of the military diplomatic corps.

The eleventh Platinum Wolf 26 multinational tactical exercise brought together approximately 600 members of the Serbian Armed Forces and personnel from Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Romania, North Macedonia, the United States, Montenegro, and the United Kingdom.
Exercise Director Lieutenant Colonel Saša Vučković of the Fourth Army Brigade noted that the objective of the exercise had been to exchange experiences, as well as to enhance readiness and mutual understanding between the armed forces of partner states.

- I believe that all units have achieved exercise objectives, which was evident through their demonstration of readiness to jointly respond to various situations in the field. The Platinum Wolf exercise has been conducted in Serbia since 2014, with the support of the United States European Command. This exercise demonstrates the Serbian Armed Forces’ commitment to cooperating with partner states in safeguarding peace and stability – said Lt Col Vučković.
Alexander Titolo, Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade, said that the exercise had demonstrated professionalism, readiness and cooperation with partner countries.

- This exercise brings tangible benefits to all participants, greater interoperability, better operational readiness, professional development of armed forces, and an exchange of tactics and skills. Apart from that, it is a visible symbol of an increasingly deep partnership between the U.S. and the Serbian Armed Forces – Titolo emphasized, adding that Serbia plays a key role in maintaining stability in the Balkans.
Colonel Jonathan Stewart, the Commander of the Ohio Army National Guard, said that the National Guard is very proud to celebrate 20 years of partnership with Serbia this year.

- Over the past 20 years, we have partnered with the Serbian Armed Forces multiple times to include Platinum Wolf here today. Also, over the past 20 years, we have shared experiences, had joint activities, and established friendships – said Colonel Stewart.
Over the past two weeks at Base South, the Borovac training area, and the Vrtogoš firing range, exercise participants rehearsed tactics, techniques, procedures, and a series of tactical scenarios, including securing bases, facilities, and convoys, patrolling, conducting cordon and search operations, and urban combat.

After the exercise, Minister Gašić and Chief of the General Staff Gen Mojsilović congratulated exercise participants on the successful execution of tasks, a high level of professionalism, and the demonstrated ability to carry out complex tasks. They also highlighted the importance of exercises like this for exchanging experiences and strengthening cooperation with partner armed forces.
The significance of Platinum Wolf exercises is reflected in the enhanced capability of the Serbian Armed Forces to plan, organize, and conduct multinational exercises. Through their participation in multinational exercises, the Serbian Armed Forces improve the readiness of commands and units, while also reaffirming our country’s commitment to cooperating with all partners and preserving peace and stability.
