President Vučić welcomes Angolan President João Lourenço
Today, the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, welcomed the President of the Republic of Angola, João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, who is on an official visit to Serbia. President Lourenço was welcomed with the highest state and military honours in front of the Palace of Serbia.
The official welcome ceremony, which featured the playing of the national anthems of Serbia and Angola and the lining up of the Guard of Honour, was attended by Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašćić.After a restricted-format meeting between Presidents Vučić and Lourenço, the two presidents chaired a plenary session of the Serbian and Angolan delegations.
Following the session, a decoration exchange ceremony was held. The President of Angola conferred the Order of Agostinho Neto upon President Vučić, while the Serbian President awarded the Order of the Republic of Serbia on a ribbon to President Lourenço.To mark 50 years of friendly relations between Serbia and Angola, a roundtable discussion entitled “Serbia and Angola from Successful Projects to New Partnerships – 50 Years of Friendship and Cooperation” was held.
