Spanish soldiers in training at CBRN Training Centre
As part of the Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan agreed upon between the Republic of Serbia and the Kingdom of Spain, specialized training programme using live toxic agents is being conducted at the CBRN Training Centre for Spanish Armed Forces personnel.
The training is being conducted at specialized laboratories and at the Ravnjak training area in Kruševac. The objective is to enhance course participants’ knowledge of toxic chemicals and provide them with practical experience of working in environments contaminated with these toxic substances. The focus is on hands-on work. Over the next two weeks, with the professional support of the Centre’s instructors, the Spanish soldiers and officers will gain additional skills in the detection of chemicals, the sampling of toxic chemicals, and the decontamination of terrain and buildings.
The CBRN Training Centre has been training Spanish soldiers and officers to work with live chemical agents since 2016. Training foreign armed forces personnel helps to further strengthen the status of this Serbian Armed Forces unit as an internationally recognized CBRN training centre, while simultaneously strengthening bilateral relations with the countries whose military personnel receives training in Serbia.
