New generation of soldiers admitted for military service
A new generation of young men and women who have opted to perform voluntary military service were admitted today to Serbian Armed Forces basic training centres.
Upon arrival at the barracks in Sombor, Valjevo and Leskovac, the June intake completed the required examinations, received their weapons and military equipment, and were assigned to their respective units, where they were briefed by their commanding officers on their rights and responsibilities, as well as tasks that lie ahead.Over the next six weeks, the soldiers will undergo basic military training, during which they will be trained in the handling of personal weapons, basic combat skills and tactics, and the conduct of guard duties. At the same time, they will work on improving their physical fitness.
Upon completion of basic training, the soldiers will proceed to specialist training for the military occupations for which they have been selected. During the second phase of their service, they will be assigned to Serbian Armed Forces units, where they will continue their training for collective tasks and actively participate in day-to-day activities alongside professional personnel.Soldiers interested in pursuing a professional military career may apply for enlistment while completing their military service. Once they complete the required selection procedure, they may join the Serbian Armed Forces as professional service members immediately after completing their voluntary military service.
