Meeting with Ambassador of Republic of India
State Secretary Mile Jelić met today with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of India to Serbia, H.E. Abhishek Shukla.
At the meeting, State Secretary Jelić noted that relations between the two countries are good and friendly, and expressed confidence that Mr. Shukla will elevate Serbia–India relations to an even higher level during his ambassadorship. He also voiced his expectation that the defence cooperation will be broadened into new areas, to the mutual benefit of both countries and their armed forces.
He expressed his gratitude to India for supporting Serbia’s efforts to preserve its territorial integrity and national sovereignty, as well as for India’s consistent respect for United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244.
It was highlighted at the meeting that both Serbia and India are committed to preserving peace and stability, respect international law, and remain dedicated to upholding the international legal order.
