Rotation of SAF medical team in EUTM RCA
The Serbian Armed Forces have conducted a regular rotation of the main part of their contingent deployed with the European Union Training Mission in the Central African Republic (EUTM RCA), consisting of a chief medical officer and a medical team within the mission.
The previous contingent, a six-member medical team, has ended its deployment after serving in the area of operations since last October. During that period, our doctors and medical technicians successfully carried out all assigned tasks, earning recognition and the highest marks from their superiors at the mission command and confirming the reputation of the Serbian Armed Forces’ medical service in an international setting.A new SAF contingent was deployed to this African country last week. As the team before them, they will spend the next six months carrying out tasks related to medical support for training, and providing injured and ill peacekeepers with preventive care and treatment at Camp Moana in Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic.
Since the Serbian Armed Forces began contributing troops to this EU military operation in the Central African Republic in 2016, more than 170 doctors and medical technicians have served in the mission, in positions within the mission headquarters and medical team.By participating in both EU and UN peacekeeping operations, the Serbian Armed Forces contribute to preserving peace in the world and strengthening Serbia’s reputation, while also confirming their ability to deploy its troops and resources internationally.
