Selective training for special forces candidates
Candidates for admission to professional military service as professional soldiers within the 72nd Special Operations Brigade have begun their selective training at military training grounds and at the Field Marshal Živojin Mišić Barracks in Valjevo.
They had previously successfully completed basic military training with weapons, acquiring basic military knowledge and preparing for the most important step in the selection process for admission into this elite military unit. The purpose of the selective training is to identify disciplined, highly motivated, and physically and mentally fit candidates, while also developing their team spirit and improving their capability and physical readiness to carry out tasks under increased physical and psychological stress. In accordance with the 10-week training program, which is divided into several elimination phases, the candidates, under the close supervision of experienced instructors from the 72nd Brigade, are trained in tactics, marksmanship, physical fitness, and military-technical skills. They are currently in the initial training phase, where the emphasis is on the execution of basic tactical actions on the battlefield and on the improvement of physical fitness.
The training process is structured in such a way that activities become progressively more difficult each day, while the candidates’ performance and effort are continuously monitored and evaluated. The most successful candidates will be offered the opportunity to join the professional military service for a fixed period of six months, with highly competitive pay and the option to extend their employment contracts. Within the 72nd Special Operations Brigade, they will continue their training and honing the skills needed for the execution of complex, physically and mentally demanding tasks, including sabotage, counter-sabotage, counter-insurgency, and counter-terrorism operations, as well as intelligence gathering.
Young men and women who want to pursue this career path and are ready to show patriotism and serve their country as members of the special units of the Serbian Armed Forces, will be able to apply for the upcoming public competitions for admission to the 72nd Special Operations Brigade and the 63rd Parachute Brigade, which will be announced on June 1 this year.
