New issue of “Odbrana” released
The May issue of Odbrana magazine features a series of articles focusing on the continued development and strengthening of the Serbian Armed Forces.
The Standpoint section is dedicated to the Second Army Brigade, which has recently been equipped with a number of new and modernized items of military equipment.In an inteview with Dragan Stanar, Ph.D., Director of the Strategic Research Institute, readers can gain insight into the unstoppable development of autonomous weapons systems and the use of artificial intelligence.
The System section showcases a segment of training on modern air defence missile systems. In this section of the magazine, you can learn more about the commemoration of an important anniversary of the Military Archive, an institution that preserves a century and a half’s worth of Serbian military archival materials.
Also, the magazine describes the drills conducted at the Orešac and Pasuljanske Livade military training areas, where Serbian Armed Forces tank units trained to use the modernized M-84 tank.
The magazine also covers the training of Air Force and Air Defence units on state-of-the-art long-range radars, an intensive programme helping members of the 126th ASEWG Brigade enhance their skills.
The May issue also provides details about the award ceremony for the best research project and doctoral thesis within the defence system in the past year.
An article about the activities carried out by the Military Medical Institutions Centre Belgrade – new investments in military medical centres, recruitment of new medical staff, and the provision of modern equipment is featured in the Healthcare section.
The History section features an article titled Between Pressure and Affection by Marijana Mraović, Ph.D., which explores the relationship between the Kingdom of Serbia and the Allied powers during the first two years of the Great War.
The new issue also describes the award ceremony at which the winners of the Our Soldier, Our Hero competition were announced. This was the sixth edition of the competition for elementary school students, organized on the occasion of Serbian Armed Forces Day.
