President's message to mark Serbian Armed Forces Day
The President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, has sent a message of congratulations on the occasion of Serbian Armed Forces Day to Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić, Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, and all members of the Serbian Armed Forces. The message reads as follows:
"On the occasion of April 23rd, Serbian Armed Forces Day, I wish to extend my sincere congratulations to all members of our armed forces, with deep respect for your skills, discipline, courage, and commitment.
This date reminds us of 1815 and the outbreak of the Second Serbian Uprising, a historical moment that laid the foundations of the modern Serbian state. Through centuries, generations of the Serbian army laid down their lives, invested effort and knowledge in the preservation of the sovereignty and stability of our country. Serving the fatherland is, actually, one of the noblest duties. Therefore, while following the glorious tradition of our ancestors and preserving the freedom and independence of the Republic of Serbia, you are the ones that make a safer future for the generations to come.
Today, the Serbian Armed Forces are a strong and reliable pillar of security and peace in our country, a symbol of the strength of the state and what all citizens could rely on. You confirm the level of your skills, your professionalism and readiness to respond efficiently to modern security challenges, not only while performing your everyday tasks in the country but also in international missions and joint exercises. I would like to single out the participation in the “Power of Unity” Military Parade and a display of achievements of the domestic defense industry and defense system at the International Defense Exhibition “Partner 2025”, which was the best way to show the operational capability and technological progress of the Serbian Armed Forces.
The Republic of Serbia remains committed to developing and strengthening further the armed forces, aware of their utmost significance for the security, stability and progress of the state. Through continuous investments in the equipment, infrastructure, training and improvement of the material status of the Serbian Armed Forces members, we show our permanent orientation towards a more powerful and more efficient defense system, and creating better conditions for life and professional development.
I wish you a happy holiday, certain that we will continue to build stronger Serbian Armed Forces in the interest of the state and future generations, while protecting what shaped us through history and relying upon knowledge, modern standards and modernization.
