New issue of Odbrana magazine released
The April issue of Odbrana magazine, released in the month when the Serbian Armed Forces celebrate their anniversary, features a series of articles showcasing the armed forces’ readiness, equipment, and development.
This issue presents the newly established Information Security Centre, featuring an interview with its head on monitoring and countering contemporary cyber threats. Our journalists have also covered the training conducted in several Serbian Armed Forces units. We have visited the 246th CBRN Battalion and the River Flotilla, watched Third Army Brigade units demonstrate their tactical capabilities and firepower at the Pasuljanske Livade range, and observed Military Police training at the Aerodrom barracks in Sombor.
The magazine also showcases two research projects carried out at the Technical Test Centre, focusing on laboratories that study environmental effects and electromagnetic compatibility of arms and military equipment.
Special attention is devoted to improvements at the Military Academy, which has recently added new facilities – artillery training simulators and a classroom for financial service personnel training.
The History section features two articles related to World War II, one on the German Enigma cipher machine kept in the Signal Brigade’s Memorial Room, and another on journalism and propaganda in occupied Serbia.
The new issue also features the coverage of the Media Centre Odbrana and the Defence University’s activities at the Novi Sad Fair.
We recommend checking out the “From Our Archive” section, featuring interesting photos of military activities from April 1952 and 1955, including artillery training on hand-held launchers and fire throwers.
