Regular SAF squad rotation in UNFICYP

In line with the annual plan for the participation of the Serbian Armed Forces and other defence forces in multinational operations, a regular rotation of the Serbian Armed Forces military police squad took place within the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) this week.
The Serbian Armed Forces deploy a military police squad as part of the UNFICYP mission, serving on a one-year rotation within the British contingent in Nicosia. The unit is tasked with protecting international forces, conducting enquiries based on UN orders, conducting security patrols and VIP escorts. It cooperates with the local police in carrying out its duties.

Members of the Serbian Armed Forces who served with the mission since last March fulfilled all assigned tasks with high professionalism and dedication, earning the highest grades and praise from the mission command and showing Serbian soldiers in the best light. They handed over their duties to a new Serbian Armed Forces contingent, who were deployed to the mission area in mid-March.
In addition to the military police unit, Serbian Armed Forces’ contingent includes staff officers currently serving at the mission HQ in Nicosia.
