Minister opens the exhibition of Iraqi art and culture

Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac, as part of the celebration of "The First Iraqi Cultural Week" opened the painting exhibition of Iraqi artists and writer Hussein Al-Jaman in the Central Military Club.

On this occasion, Sutanovac said that culture was the best way of representing a state.

- It's no secret that the former Yugoslavia had had very good relations with Iraq and that following a brief interruption we managed to restore those relationships in the area of defense. The Ministry of Defense has for some time now best represented the Army of Serbia and the Serbian state abroad , and we wish to organize such cultural events in the House of the Army and promote the culture of other countries. Certainly, the best promotion of a country is its culture, whether it be in music, whether it in painting. In the last two years, I have visited Baghdad three times and on this occasion that the city is very reminiscent, preserving the atmosphere of the “Thousand and One Night legends" Thousand and One Night," and I hope that this exhibition will provide an opportunity for the citizens of Belgrade to see the same for themselves- Sutanovac said.

The opening the exhibition, in addition to numerous lovers and connoisseurs of the Iraqi art, was attended by the Ambassador of Iraq in Belgrade, Dr. Falah Abdulhasan Abdulsada who thanked the Ministry of Defence for all its support in organizing the "First Iraqi Cultural Week in Belgrade," the Minister Dragan Sutanovac donated works of art.
