The Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, met today with the Commander of the Allied Joint Force Command Naples (JFC Naples), American Admiral George M. Wikoff, who is visiting Belgrade for the first time since taking office in mid-November last year.
During the meeting held at the General Staff, discussion focused on the security situation in the region and prospects for further cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and JFC Naples. Both sides agreed that their current relations are constructive and aimed at maintaining peace and stability in the region, and they expressed readiness to further deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.Given that international security forces in Serbia’s southern province operate under the JFC Naples’ command, particular attention was given to the security situation in Kosovo and Metohija and to the cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR in monitoring the situation on the ground and preventing crisis escalation. In this context, the importance of maintaining open and direct communication between the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, the Commander of JFC Naples, and the KFOR Commander, was underscored.
General Mojsilović and Admiral Wikoff then visited the Borovac Training Ground and the South Base, where the guest was shown the modern training and exercise facilities, developed in part thanks to U.S. donations.Admiral Wikoff, who also serves as Commander of U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa, was received today in separate meetings by the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, and Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić.
