New issue of Odbrana magazine released
The latest issue of Odbrana magazine covers the key activities within the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces throughout February.
Following the In Focus section, which offers a concise overview of the most important defence system news, we highlight the article titled “Serbian Military Doctors Saved My Life”, which provides a retrospective look at the recently completed deployment of Serbian Armed Forces personnel as part of the MINUSCA mission in the Central African Republic. The System section provides the details of the 63rd Parachute Brigade’s training, where soldiers practiced jumps with the newly introduced cutting-edge RA-1 parachute system, as well as the introduction into service of the M18 Oganj artillery missile system. It also includes a report on special operations tactics training in the 72nd Special Operations brigade, designed to fully prepare newly recruited personnel for the execution of multi-purpose missions.
The magazine also features an interview with the editorial team of TV Prva programme Eksploziv, this year’s recipients of the Ivan Marinković Journalism Award, as well as a feature on the Military Hospital Niš – one of the oldest and most respected military healthcare institutions.
The March issue pays special attention to the winter training of cadets of the Military Academy and the Military Medical Faculty, as well as to the exhibition titled “150 Years of the General Staff – A Century and a Half in Service to the Homeland”, which celebrates the important jubilee of the highest professional and command body of the Serbian Armed Forces.
The Tradition section highlights an exhibition celebrating the 150th anniversary of the General Stevan Bošković Military Geographical Institute, which was opened last month at the Central Military Club’s Small Gallery. The History section features a detailed article by Marijana Mraović, Ph.D., on Serbian internees in Nazi camps in Norway during the Second World War.
Finally, we invite you to explore our archive and see what the tactical training of the infantry and the self-propelled artillery looked like back in 1954.
