Specialized training for logistics service soldiers
Military service volunteers who have been recruited for military occupational specialties within the logistics services are currently undergoing specialized training at the Logistics Training Centre.
Within this unit of the Training Command, stationed across the garrisons of Kraljevo, Kruševac and Niš, soldiers are trained for more than 20 military occupational specialties, including medics, firefighters, drivers, wheeled and tracked vehicle mechanics, weapons and ammunition technicians, explosive ordnance specialists, as well as water supply technicians, cooks and bakers. At the Car Lazar Barracks in Kruševac, soldiers of the current intake from the technical and quartermaster services are undergoing training to qualify as optical and sighting systems technicians, firefighters, and cooks.
Second Lieutenant Dina Stojanović, leader of the culinary training platoon within the quartermaster training company, points out that the unit provides optimal conditions for specialized training both for military cooks and for water supply technicians and bakers.
— Military cooks first acquire theoretical knowledge, which they then implement in the culinary training workshop. They are trained to work in mess halls, as well as to operate field kitchens, while water supply technicians are trained to provide water - says 2nd Lt Stojanović, adding that upon completion of this training phase, the soldiers will undergo an evaluation and will then be assigned to units of the Serbian Armed Forces for the next training phase.Private Stefan Bogićević, currently undergoing training as an optical and sighting systems technicians, says that after graduating from the Technical High School in Niš, he signed up for military service in order to learn how to operate specialized equipment of the Serbian Armed Forces.
— The training is dynamic and demanding, but provides knowledge and discipline that cannot be gained elsewhere — Private Bogićević says, noting that upon completion of his military service, he intends to pursue a professional career in the Serbian Armed Forces.
This opportunity is available to all soldiers currently serving their military term. They can apply now for admission to professional military service, which enables them to join the ranks of professional members of the Serbian Armed Forces immediately upon completion of their military service.
