Minister Gašić presents promotion and appointment decrees



Today, Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić presented decrees issued by the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, promoting and appointing SAF officers to new duties. The ceremony was attended by the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović.
By presidential decree, Major General Željko Furundžić has been appointed as Commandant of the Military Academy and Colonel Vladimir Vukajlović as Guard Commander. Colonel Jovica Kepčija has been promoted to the rank of brigadier general. 

Minister Gašić wished the officers continued success in their work, stressing that their promotions and appointments are the result of their professionalism, dedication, and responsible approach to duty. He emphasized that the Serbian Armed Forces must remain strong and ready to respond to all challenges, and added that the greatest quality of the armed forces lies in their people. The Minister of Defence expressed his expectation that the officers will use their knowledge and experience to further strengthen the operational capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces and to improve military education, which forms the basis for developing a highly skilled officer corps.
Major General Željko Furundžić was born on December 16, 1974 in Bijelo Polje. His professional military career started in 1997. He graduated from the Military Academy in 1997, completed the Command and Staff Course in 2010 and the General Staff Course in 2019. Until now, he served as Guard Commander.

Brigadier General Jovica Kepčija was born on October 30, 1975 in Sisak. His professional military career started in 1998. He graduated from the Military Academy in 1998 and completed the General Staff Course in 2009. He currently serves as Commander of the 126th ASEWG Brigade.
Colonel Vladimir Vukajlović was born on September 15, 1975 in Subotica. His professional military career started in 1998. He graduated from the Military Academy in 1998, completed his master’s degree in 2013, obtained a Ph.D. degree in 2018, and completed the Advanced Security and Defence Studies in 2025.  Until now, he served as Deputy Guard Commander.
