International Special Forces Competition - UAE SWAT CHALLENGE 2026

The Special Purpose Military Police Detachment “Kobre” once again took part in the UAE SWAT Challenge 2026, a prestigious international competition of special police units, held in Dubai from February 7 to 11.
A record 109 teams from 48 countries participated in this year’s competition – police counterterrorism teams and tactical hostage rescue units, and military special operations teams. In addition to the MP Detachment “Kobre”, the Republic of Serbia was represented, as in previous years, by teams from the Gendarmerie and the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit of the Ministry of the Interior.

Amidst strong competition from around the world, Kobre members demonstrated exceptional tactical and firearms skills, great tenacity, and strong team spirit in five events designed to simulate complex security challenges and real-life crises. Despite an excellent performance, particularly in the final three events, the team was unable to replicate last year’s impressive result, largely due to penalties incurred during the first part of the competition.

The UAE SWAT Challenge, hosted by the Dubai Police, has been held since 2019. This sporting event provides a unique platform for elite military and police units to demonstrate their skills, exchange ideas, and promote cooperation, mutual understanding, and best practices among each other. Participation of Serbian teams in the competition has a positive impact on overall bilateral relations with the United Arab Emirates.
